Resolution pathway
How does family mediation work?
At Ellie Newbery Mediation, based in the picturesque surroundings of Fernhurst, I specialise in providing expert mediation services for families going through divorce or separation. My goal is to offer compassionate and effective guidance, particularly for situations involving children, ensuring that the best interests of the family are considered.
Step 1
Choosing Mediation
A 1 hour session with you individually to tell me about your situation, to understand the mediation process and ensure that mediation with me is the right path for both of you.
Step 2
Agreeing to Mediate
The first joint meeting where we sign a social contract and agree your priorities for the following sessions.
Step 3
Joint Sessions
We will have as many 1.5 hour sessions as you need to make decisions together
Step 4
Documents
If you have reached agreement on sharing your finances then I will draw them up into a Memorandum of Understanding document and those who have children may like a written Parenting Plan.
Mediation Package
Whilst you are welcome to “pay as you go”, I also offer a Mediation Package of
- An individual session for an hour with each person to explain what mediation is and check that it is right for you and your situation at this time,
- A joint session of an hour and a half to go through the Agreement to Mediate and set the agenda for what you and your family wish to discuss,
- Three further joint sessions of an hour and a half to go through financial disclosure and discussing options in order to reach an outcome,
- Preparation of a Memorandum of Understanding and/or Parenting Plan for you to take to solicitors for advice and for making into a binding Order, if that is what you wish.
Total Cost £2,600 (£1,300 per person)
